The loc journey
A first call, starter locs, then a rhythm
Locs aren't one appointment. Here is how the run goes, so you can see all of it before you book the first stop.
Some people arrive with nothing but a wish, and some with locs they've had for years. The stops below are the same for both: a conversation, the work, and a rhythm you can keep. Each stop says how long it takes and what we ask of you.

Step by step
Six stops, in order
- 0120 min
Step 1: Consultation call
About 20 minutes, by phone or video. Your hair, the method, the size and what you're hoping for. We say what each choice asks of you.
- 02Half a day or more
Step 2: Starter locs
Comb coils, two-strand twists or interlocking, in one visit or two. You leave with a plan for washing and sleeping.
- 03First visit within weeks
Step 3: The first weeks
A short check-in call, then your first visit. We leave locs alone when they should be left alone.
- 04A few months
Step 4: Settling in
Locs go through stages and can look uneven in the middle. We see you every few visits and say what's normal.
- 05Every four to eight weeks
Step 5: Maintenance
A retwist at the root, a wash and scalp care and a style, every four to eight weeks, on a plan if you want one.
- 06When you're ready
Step 6: Changing things
Loc extensions, a new style or a take-down, when you want a change. We plan it on a call, as we did the first time.
Along the way
What we'll ask you, and what you can ask us
About your hair
Length, texture, what you've used and how you wash it. This decides the method more than anything else.
About your week
How much time you want to spend, and how soon you'd like to be back. Locs fit a rhythm, and we'd rather build yours than guess it.
About the cost
How a quote works, when a deposit applies and what a plan includes. Ask before you book, not after.
How pricing works
Start with a conversation
A consultation call is the first stop. Ask whatever you like about your hair and the weeks ahead.
