Policies
Deposits, notice and what to bring, in plain words.
Booking and deposits
Starter locs, loc extensions and take-downs take a deposit that holds your time and goes toward your service. The amount shows when you book. Retwists, tidies and styling don't need one. New clients start with a consultation call before a starter set is booked.
Canceling and running late
Please give 48 hours' notice to cancel or move a visit, and 72 hours for a starter set or a take-down, which hold a whole day. Running late? Call or text. We'll fit in what the time allows, or move you to another day.
If you miss an appointment
If a visit is missed without notice, the deposit stays with the studio, and we ask for a new one before we book you again.
Children and companions
Children are welcome for their own appointment. Long visits are hard to sit through at any age, so a friend or family member can stay with you, one at a time, so the room stays calm.
Patch tests and allergies
Locs don't usually need one. Tell us if you've reacted to a hair, scalp or adhesive product, and we'll plan around it. If a product on your visit calls for a patch test, we say so when you book and follow the maker's directions.
If you're not happy
If something isn't right with your locs, tell us within a few days and we'll make it right. Locs change as they settle, so we talk through what to expect before you leave.
Tipping
Tips are welcome and never expected. Leave one at the desk or when you pay, and it goes to whoever did your hair.
Before your visit
For starter locs, come with clean hair that has no oil or heavy product on it. For a retwist, come as you are and tell us what you've used lately. Wear a top that opens at the neck or a button-up, and bring a drink and something to do for the longer visits.
